It has been two years since my last visit here and it’s as vibrant as ever. The peak of tourist season means there aren’t as many locals around, which reduces some of the crowding in subways, but they’re also not waiting in their shops for me to pop in or to take my order. Definitely a time for patience, in keeping with a more relaxed summer vibe.
I’ve been to Paris several times, but not when it’s been so hot. You’d think that even though it doesn’t stay hot for that many weeks, AC would be more common. We stayed at an AirBnB and in the tossy turny evenings I was wishing that we had opted for a more assuredly comfortable hotel. There is something to be said, however, for the much more authentic Parisan feel of the apartment.
