Luckily, April in SF does not bring a lot of showers, but it does bring spring flowers and welcome sunshine. Once again both were in plentitude for the Easter in the Park festivities. I made my usual pilgrimage to Mission Delores Park, staking out a spot that wasn’t too close to the stage and hoping that no inconsiderate would have an erection (of the nylon tent variety) right in front of me to block the view. Fortune was on my side and I had a premium vantage spot.
I did my usual meanderings as the crowd swelled till every bit of grass seemed to be covered by blanket or butt. The mood was festive, friendly, and fabulousness was in abundance.
The Sisters really know how to put on a show. They always pull out all the stops to make sure everyone gets an eye and ear full. And they are only too happy to oblige those who just happen to have a camera in their hands. Nowadays that turns out to be just about everyone. I’ve yet to have someone say no (to a photo). How often does that happen?
The Hunky Jesus contest was the highlight and the Jesi were out in force. Winning is not just about bringing the hunk. You need the schtick. And Carter Country Jesus brought it. The right look, with the right message, at the right time. Well done.
