It was another early Easter Sunday morning for me so that I could secure a choice spot in Delores Park. There was also the egg hunt that was the first activity of the day. It wasn’t really all that challenging for the little ones. It came down to trample or be trampled. And for those who survived the stampede, there were other tests of skill, all with some sort of egg factor.
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence celebrated their 45th anniversary and they were out in full face makeup.
Some bunnies are just made for the camera.
Once again there was much to look at atop people’s heads with plenty of imaginative creations to admire.
This year I decided to take along both my Polaroid Land 250 and 690, which made for a hefty backpack, but did give me lots of photo options. The first one below is a peel apart, from film over a decade old that turned out better than expected. The rest are using more recent Polaroid film that I am quite impressed with based on how poor the color was in previous versions of this film. They still take a while to fully develop (~15 mins), but much better than the almost an hour that it took for the first gen.
The highlight of the day, as it is every year, was the Hunky Jesus contest. It was filled with fellas in outfits that ranged from a minimalist thong to full on Ken, still in his original box. I had picked Ken as the winner as soon as I saw him. With so much exposure from that Barbie film, it wasn’t even close. Still, there were many enthusiastic entries that gave him a real run for it.
Fishnet stocking never looked so good.
