My first trip to Finland and good way to get it started on a high note (literally) was to attend a music festival. More specifically, the Flow music festival in Helsinki. One of the things that was a little surprising was how far it was from one end of the site to the other. I didn't actually mind it so much because on the trek from Kamasi Washington to Kendrick Lamar there was a lot to see.
I'm not a great photographer of people due to my shyness so, as a result, some of the people snaps that follow are a little bit rushed looking and not always in the sharpest of focus. But despite this, they were still considered Cambunctious worthy by the judges (i.e. me).
Of the festival itself, one local noted that a lot of folks show up not so much for the music, but to hang out with friends and get their drink on. There certainly were people who seemed to be a little too under the influence to be fully present. Perhaps that would explain why some of them had the uncanny ability to bump into people. Not quite knocking anyone down, but still being quite annoying if you were the victim. Because of this, I tried to give folks plenty of berth so as not to have any precious liquids in my possession end up in places where they couldn't be enjoyed.
Black and yellow were pretty dominant, but there were areas of vivid colors that were real people magnets.
There was a lot more happening than just the big names (and small) on the multitude of stages. In addition to the live stuff, there were several spots where DJs were spinning the tunes. There were back yards, front yards and side yards, in addition to food courts with no shortage of gustatory delights. There was even a theatre if you felt like chilling inside for a while.
I had seen him in San Jose during Winterfest a few years ago so I had a pretty good idea of what to expect from Moses Sumney. He was still pretty impressive and we were fortunate enough to be right next to the stage. A rather intimate setting. It was called the 360 stage although these pics don't really give you a full appreciate for the surround sound.
